Important: Fioricet is not a 40 mg butalbital product. The “40 mg” refers to the caffeine component. The standard Fioricet formulation contains butalbital 50 mg + acetaminophen 300 mg + caffeine 40 mg per capsule. Some generic formulations contain 325 mg acetaminophen instead.
